TECHNICAL CORK
Technical cork is the same cork from wine bottles, only this material is made for sound and thermal insulation.
Technical cork is available in rolls or sheets of different thicknesses. It is well cut and easy to work with. With a thickness of 1 to 12 mm, technical cork is used as a cork underlay/soundproofing.
The width of the rolls is usually exactly 1 meter.
LASER CUT CORK
Cork is cut with a laser like plywood, only it does not have knots. Important to know: cork is a roll material and because of that it can be a bit crooked. Therefore, it is necessary to smooth it out before cutting. Put it on a flat surface and press it with a weight. Otherwise, during cutting, when the material is crooked, undercuts may occur. As a result, the end/edge of the product can be chipped or with a torn off piece.
Laser cutting of parts thinner than 2mm is not possible, because all these parts burn up during cutting or break when removing them from the equipment.
The face of a cork after laser cutting is dark/black. After the cut it is necessary to wipe it with a wet rag and clean the end face.
TECHNICAL CORK LASER ENGRAVING
Engraving is the burning out of the top layer of the material. This process occurs because of the frequent repetitive lines that the laser draws. These lines are at a very close distance from each other, this distance is invisible to the human eye. At the same time, each line shifts one from the other. This creates a completely etched surface of the material. So, moving from left to right or from top to bottom, the engraving is created. In other words, it is the filling of a space by engraving. After engraving, a dark engraved surface is left on the material, which has some indentation. As a rule, the indentation is between 0.2 and 1.5 mm.
It is difficult to engrave complex characters smaller than 0.2mm on a laser engraving machine. Line thickness for engraving preferably should not be less than 0,5mm. For advice on engraving service, it is best to contact our experts.
Engraving is not considered a cheap way to apply the logos, our company calculates the time. But the engraving can be applied by the piece and there is no attachment to a large circulation.
After engraving caps, around engraved elements, light brown residue / char, it can be washed away with water. It is important to be aware of the fact that it can be problematic to rinse off a large amount of dust. It is desirable to rinse it off immediately after engraving, so that the products of combustion deposited on the material do not have time to penetrate the material structure.
Cork engraving is often very dark. The depth of the engraving is about 1mm.
Engraving is time-based, can be applied by the piece, no tirage, impossible to erase, contrasts with the color of the wood, can be applied to most known materials
